Wednesday 9 April 2025, Trillion Trees, Hazelmere
Help us to protect endangered black cockatoos by building black cockatoo nest boxes with us.
Our precious black cockatoos are in crisis. They are starving amidst the combined impacts of relentless record-breaking heatwaves, and the wholesale clearance of the trees they feed on for rural and urban development.
Thanks to generous donations to our Black Cockatoos Appeal, we will be planting more trees for black cockatoos in 2025, replacing their lost habitat and restoring biodiverse ecosystems.
While we wait for these new trees to grow and produce food and roosting places for black cockatoos, we have pledged to install at least ten black cockatoo nest boxes in the mature trees surrounding our planting sites.
Please join us for a hands on workshop to build at least ten large nest boxes for black cockatoos. These boxes will be installed at Trillion Trees Australia planting sites around Perth and the Wheatbelt to protect and support our precious black cockatoos with roosting and nesting places. This is a hands on workshop for adults only.
This workshop is delivered in partnership with The Re-cyc-ology Project, run by Simon Cherriman.
With thanks to grant funding from the Bupa Healthy Cities Landcare Program.
