Kweela Community Planting Day Photo Gallery - Sunday 27 July 2025

August 08, 2025 in Restoration

Over 110 volunteers turned out in the cold and rain to participate in our 2025 Kweela Community Planting Day.

Located in an area of historically cleared grass parkland on the Swan River’s floodplain, our Kweela Restoration Project at Reg Bond Reserve aims to connect existing pockets of native vegetation to create a corridor of riparian woodland. This area is an important habitat for an extensive variety of native birds including endangered black cockatoos.

Together, we planted 3,000 native trees and shrubs to help heal the landscape – huge thanks to everyone who participated!

This planting forms part of our long standing commitment to plant Memorial Groves, thanks to generous support from Bowra and O’Dea over the last 30 years. This event is also kindly supported by Bupa and Landcare Australia.
