Adding wildflowers to your home garden produces a beautiful array of colour in Spring, and also promotes biodiversity and healthy ecosystems. The flowers provide pollen for birds, bees and other wildlife, while the foliage provides habitat and shelter. Adding wildflowers to your native garden also enhances soil health by bringing more diversity and supporting healthy microbial life in your garden ecosystem.

Many of the seeds for our wildflowers were sourced from WA Daisies, a small WA business founded by John Colwill OAM. The Vice President of the Trillion Trees board, John is well known for his work with the ABC as a gardening presenter and is highly regarded as a horticulture expert. He was instrumental in the development of Water Corp's Waterwise plants initiative, providing technical advice for this pioneering initiative in the early 2000s. In 2019 his passion for WA wildflowers, especially the hundreds of species of native Asteraceae (daisies), led him to develop WA Daisies by cultivating varieties well suited to the home garden.
