Sixty eager volunteers joined us on a frosty morning at Guildford Meadows to restore this riparian landscape with a wide range of native trees and plants.
We welcomed teams from Boart Longyear, Argon and Co, Arbor Carbon and Stratagreen to participate in this rewarding team building activity.
Restoration Manager Doug Laurie coordinated the groups as they successfully planted 2800 native trees and plants. Guildford Meadows is an area which was largely cleared for grazing in the 1930s with only a few large trees remaining. Now a part of Whiteman Park, it provides viable habitat for threatened and at risk native animal species including rakali and black cockatoos. The area is also known for significant registered cultural sites of the local Noongar people.
Team Planting Days are an excellent way to bring staff together in nature, promoting wellbeing and strengthening bonds within teams.
