Trillion Trees Australia has been awarded $8643 through the Community Gardens Grants program supported by the Department of Communities, to develop a wetland wildlife garden.
The project will engage volunteers and community members in the planning, design and construction of a wetland wildlife garden in an area that is open to the public within the grounds of Trillion Trees Australia. The project will be supported by educational events and workshops.
Local landscape designer Kylie Brinfield from Garden Insight has been engaged to work with staff and volunteers to produce a masterplan of the garden. Signage and activations within the garden will provide education to volunteers and visitors around biodiversity, wetlands, wildlife and habitats. The garden will also be used for propagation of a range of wetland plant species which will be used in Trillion Trees wetland restoration projects in Perth and the Wheatbelt.
The first planning session for the Wetland Wildlife Garden was held in December to form a focus group of interested volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved with this project email hidden; JavaScript is requiredemail hidden; JavaScript is required
