Site Works Commence on Lotterywest-funded Redevelopment

December 06, 2024

Siteworks commenced in October 2024 for our Lotterywest-funded nursery redevelopment, complete with a new nursery office and vastly improved working area for our dedicated volunteers.

The first idea for this redevelopment was seeded in 2017, and many of our valued volunteers have played an important part in the planning and preparation to get us to this point.

The new work area will occupy the land outside the studio, along the boundary of the bird cage and nursery enclosure towards the ute shed. The redevelopment will provide a larger, purpose-built propagation area, new soil bays, pot wash, storage area and nursery admin building. We hope that the new area will be more practical, comfortable and accessible for all of our staff and volunteers.

Sam Blomeley from Rapid Building Group will be leading the building project. Surveys have been conducted and pegs put in place so that the earthworks contractor could prepare the ground for the foundations to go down.

Trillion Trees CEO Mark Hullett said: "It’s inspiring to see Trillion Trees reach the end of one process put in place by others who came before us, and see the start of an exciting new one with the construction phase. We look forward to working closely with Lotterywest and other stakeholders over the coming months to construct these fabulous new facilities."
